"The Harvest is Plentiful, but the Workers are Few..." Matthew 9:37

Greetings Family and Friends!

We’re loving this weather up here in the mountains! Everything is blooming, the birds are singing, and the butterflies are fluttering around on the butterfly bushes! June was a fabulous and busy month! Ken has been loving playing at the assisted living home here in Fort Payne. As most of you know, the band “Alabama” are all from here. Two of the mothers of a couple of the band members are living there at the home. They come to hear Ken sing every week. Ken is even learning one of the songs for them that Jeff Cook sings,” Jordan’s Banks”, at the request of his mother. So, go look it up and listen to it. It’s a fabulous song and Jeff sings it so well! (and so does Ken). 😊

Every week we are still going out into the community to evangelize. There have been many salvations through these efforts! People are hungry and God is making sure of it. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Matthew 9:37 Like we’ve said before, we have to get up and out of the pews. There are so many folks out there that don’t know what they need, which of course is the knowledge of the love and power that only Jesus Christ can bring! But they, in their ignorance, would never step foot in any church… and we used to be two of them! And you don’t have to be an evangelist either! Just share in everyday conversations what Jesus has done for you. Pray for God to place someone before you and go plant some seeds! And please pray for Ken. He is supposed to go back into DCI Prison at the end of this month and into our county jail next month!

I’ve started a new Precept Bible Study too called, “Lord, I Want to Know You”. It’s a study on the names of God in the Bible, along with the descriptions of each. For example, Elohim, Jehovah, El Roi, and more, are all in the Old Testament. But most of them were translated into English as the word, “God” or "LORD". But in the original Hebrew language of the Old Testament they have many different meanings. They describe all the attributes and descriptions of Who God says He is… and what He promises to do for His own. Such as, God the Creator,(Elohim), LORD or Self-Existent One, (Jehovah), God Who Sees, (El Roi). It is such a great study because we go to all the scriptures where these words are used, and in what context, and learn exactly what God wants us to truly know about Himself! I’m so excited about it! 18 women signed up and some of them, even older ones, have never studied the Bible before. This is my dream job!!! 😊 By the way, do you know that His name Elohim, in Genesis, (in the original Hebrew language), is a plural term? It’s context is the name for God as Creator. So, in Genesis 1:1 it could be translated as “In the beginning Gods created the heavens and the earth.” But make no mistake, Deuteronomy 6:4 says, “The LORD (Jehovah) is our God (Elohim), the LORD is one.” God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit- the blessed Trinity-created the heavens and the earth. One in essence, in character, yet three persons united as One, the Triune God! That’s why we really have to STUDY the Bible, not just read it, to get the fullness of what God is saying to us…

We so appreciate all your love and support for us! We THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts...

Love you much! Cindy & Ken
